Full Circle Rock Racing: The Beginning
In March of 2006 Full Circle Rock Racing was formed with a single goal in mind, to create a true “team” image, which the sport of rock crawling had been lacking in the east. The team started with three vehicles, one running in each of the classes, however with the change in focus of the promoters to concentrate on the stock and pro-mod classes, Full Circle Rock Racing moved with that change and for 2007 went to a two truck team.
Driving our stock class vehicle would be returning team member Kurt Shramovich. Kurt spent the 2006 season spotting for the stock class vehicle and is very capable and knowledgeable about the vehicle, its capabilities, and the sport in general. Spotting the stock class vehicle for 2007 would be a new comer to the team Chris Walton. Chris may be new to the team but by no means to the sport. Chris has been a judge at local rock crawling competitions over the past few years and is an avid wheeler. Having judged, he brings a unique understanding of the ins and outs of the sport and how to diagnose courses.
Driving the pro-modified vehicle would be returning driver from 2006 Gavin Lewis. Gavin drove the same vehicle in 2006 to a 3rd overall finish. Spotting for Gavin in the 2007 season would be returning team mate Bruce Shallis. Bruce has spent the past 3 seasons spotting for our former super modified vehicle and prior to that had spotted for Gavin back in 2003. Bruce having spent three years spotting in the unlimited class will only help as he is familiar with the difficult courses the pro-modified class needs to navigate.
In early 2007, Full Circle Rock Racing focused on the success of the2006 season and was able to re-sign larger sponsors such as BFG Tires, Ramsey Winch, and Extreme Axle Sales. Added to these sponsors for 2007 would be K&N Air Filters, Ultimate Air, CTM Racing, and the biggest move, Quadratec. Quadratec is the leading distributor in aftermarket jeep products in the US and signed on with Full Circle Rock Racing to be their premier sponsor for the 2007 We-Rock season. This partnership has enabled Full Circle Rock Racing to launch as a team to watch as we are now able to travel with full pit support crews allowing the drivers and spotters to focus on the competition and not on the maintenance of the vehicles.
Look for Full Circle Rock Racing to continue to grow throughout the 2007 season and into 2008!
